Great Song.

Tuesday I got to go watch Maroon 5 - Kris Allen & V.V. Brown at the Fraze. First off I have never been the the Fraze, that place is awesome and so personal for concerts!
Kris Allen's - Live like we're dying song has been out for awhile but listening to the words live in concert really hit me. Along with personal things going on in my life currently, it got me thinking to take a minute, stop take a step back and evaluate... Life! :)

Just Chatting!

The last 3 weeks have been a whirlwind... Week 1 - 4 day long Most inspiring workshop I have ever been to and meet some really great other photographers! Week 2 - 2 day Lighting Workshop in Indy with a great friend and fellow photographer.... Week 3 - 5 day TOTAL overhaul of the studio with the awesome photographer Dave McMahan who I brought up here from Florida for this inspiration! Thanks to everyone, most of all Dave McMahan, Rhonda Cavender, Katie Koester and my new photo friend Niki Jahns! Thanks for all your help everyone and huge thanks to all the people we got free goodies from for our set building!!!!!!
I look forward to this new photography season! Class of 2011 Watch out Picture Perfect is the place to be!

The Best Motivation Video

My Nephews

So even I as a photographer have a hard time getting together family to do a session. We have not had a family photo in 6 years YES I said it 6 years its horrible! But anyways the other week I got a chance to snag my nephews for a mini session so we had some fun new shots of them since they are growing like weeds. So hopefully we will be able to get the family together and do a family photo this year!

Random Find

While cleaning out my office trying to become more organized I came across an artist statement I wrote for one of my portfolios for a photography class back in 2005 and I thought I would share it with you.



A photo will always allow you to go back and look over your past, as many look at photo albums, reminiscing back in time; you get reminded of being a child or that unforgettable graduation or wedding day. There is no way of stopping life in its tracks, summer will always fade to fall and we will all grow. But by taking photos it will preserve that special moment in time. As I now grow from a person who took nice snapshots to a photographer, I look at the world through the lens of my camera, preserving those precious moments in time so others can have a chance to go back.

This sweet email I received just made my day!

Just thinking

I was just thinking about how my sessions come in clumps I go from having 5 straight children sessions to 5 straight engagements. It just must be the season! I still have 1 more engagement to blog 1 family and a wedding so stay tuned!

Always Learning!

Yesterday afternoon/night I went to this Seminar which left me with many new ideas for designing albums and just tips and tricks in general.

I believe that those people who think they know it all is only setting them up for failure. So don't be that person, always look for whats next.

 

I am always trying to find new ways to inspire my work with it being looking through magazines, traveling, meeting with my Photog friends for lunch, seminars, workshops, online, reading... the list goes on and on...

A Sweet Thank You!

I received this sweet thank you card from Jeanne & Nicole and I wanted to share it with you all. Nicole is the bride that I shot back in December on the destination wedding in Florida. The other week Jeanne (Nicoles Mom) brought over this sweet thank you card and this piece of hand made pottery she made for me! I love it and had to share it with you all. Jeanne is a retired art teacher and is coming over to the studio next friday and we are going to paint and design some backgrounds for this years seniors!!!

Ugly Sweater Party

My wedding assistant Rhonda is way to good to me!

So I get into my room from Karl and Nicoles wedding and say man this is a nice hotel they even pull your bed down for you and make you towel animals... Well not so much the hotel... Rhonda!

Rhonda you truly keep me in line. During weddings I am all over the place and tend to forget things but no worries Rhonda knows how I am and takes care of it!

Thanks Rhonda SOOO much for being such a great help to me! I would prolly be lost or be ordering equipment all the time because I would loose it with out you!

I am Here

I know the past 2 weeks I have been MIA but trust me I have been working I have so many sweet pictures to post and I will have a few posts today.

FYI

For those of you who are getting ready to make orders please do so before Wednesday if you are in a hurry to receive them. I will be out of town with my first DESTINATION WEDDING! At Longboat Key, Florida from Thursday-Sunday the office here will be closed so there will be no orders being processed during those days.

August Chicago Trip

As I had posted when I got back from this trip I went there to shoot the engagement photos of John & Lisa who got married this weekend!

Brad & Joni & Adrienne came along with me to shoot... well Brad shot me shooting John and Lisa's engagement session with hopes that when things slow down here a little bit I can put together a commercial to give interested clients an idea of how I shoot while getting a feel for your engagement session experience.

Anyhow... The next day I shot Brad and Joni's engagement pics. I have been editing them today... here is a couple of us. I hope to have a post by Tuesday of their e pics!

Happy Halloween!

Heres my 2 nephews having there photo taken by their favorite Uncle/

We have the Buckeyes FB Player and the one and only Jim Tressel.

The night before last I meet my Nephews at my parents house to carve pumpkins... and let me tell you I was pretty excited.... I watched professional pumpkin carving contest on the food network the night before and got some sweet ideas so this is my master piece.
